From Bologna’s Marconi Airport, the quickest route to Carpi is to take the bus from the airport to the train station in Bologna. Trains leave from Bologna to Modena every hour (journey time Bologna-Modena is 20 mins.). Trains for Carpi leave from platform 6 in Modena and they generally coincide with trains arriving from Bologna and Milan. For arrivals to Milan Malpensa, Linate, Orio al Serio and Verona Catullo airports, it is necessary to go to Milan central train station and take the train to Modena (it may be more convenient to travel to Bologna train station and then catch another train to Modena).



The A22 Modena-Brennero motorway passes by Carpi. Therefore take the exit for CARPI and follow signs for the town centre. The exit for Carpi is only a few kilometres away from the A1 motorway and from Modena Nord and Reggio Emilia. If arriving by back road, the roads to take are: Strada Statale 413 (Romana Sud) from Modena (18 km) and from Bologna (53 km), Strada Statale 413 (Romana Nord) from Mantova (60 km) and Strada Statale 468 from Reggio Emilia.



The train station in Carpi is on the Modena/Mantova/Verona line. Journey time from Modena to Carpi is approximately 12 minutes and on this line in particular a metropolitan-type connection is being experimented whereby trains run every 30 minutes at certain times of the day. Modena train station is situated on the Bologna-Milan line and many long distance trains stop at this station. There is also a frequent bus service connecting Carpi to Modena. The bus service provides connections to neighbouring towns in the Province of Modena such as Soliera, Novi, Concordia, Cavezzo and some towns in the Province if Reggio Emilia such as Correggio, Novellara, Rio Saliceto and Reggio Emilia.
